Job Purpose:

Provide general support to the Land & Development team.

Help with day-to day tasks relating to the Council's land and property portfolio.

Assist with enquiries, paperwork and simple land and property transactions.

Location of Job:

Description of duties

  • Provide general administrative and organisational support to the Land & Development team.
  • Help gather information for land and property projects.
  • Assist with preparing documents, reports and basic plans.
  • Support the preparation of documentation and information required for the land and property transactions.
  • Support the disposal of surplus land and property, including preparing sales information, co-ordinating information, tracking progress and liaising with internal teams and external partners.
  • Help with land enquiries from the public, councillors and other departments, ensuring timely and accurate communication.
  • Keep records up to date and maintain filing systems (digital and paper).
  • Assist with arranging meetings, taking notes and following up actions.
  • Help monitor progress on projects and update tracking systems.
  • Support the team in dealing with land issues such as boundary queries or access requests.
  • Assist with processing applications for easements, licences and similar land matters.
  • Help organise and coordinate external consultants when required.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks to support the Land & Development Manager.
  • Input and process purchase orders and invoice queries and manage suppliers.
  • To administer and update all in house software systems, including the land terrier and GIS system with any changes to the Council's ownership or property through acquisition or disposal..
  • Support land registry searches and support the Land & Development team in dealing with discrepancies with property and land ownership.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the line manager as part of the role including any other head office related administration
  • Ensure compliance to all policies, procedures, standard operating practices, with recommendations for action and continuous improvement.
