27 May 2026: Dereham Dino Day
An exciting family event taking place in Dereham this half-term, which Breckland Council is organising and funding, alongside some financial support from NCC's Love your Market Town fund. Dereham Dino Day will take place in Dereham Market Place on Wednesday 27 May from 10am to 4pm, bringing a full day of free dinosaur-themed activities into the town centre to help encourage footfall and support local businesses.
The event will include:
- A dinosaur-themed activity bus delivered with Yellow Bus Events Company
- Baby dinosaurs and Dippy the Dino from ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure
- Market stalls and family activities throughout the Market Place
- A dinosaur trail around Dereham town centre running from 15-31 May
- The chance for children to win free tickets to ROARR! Dinosaur Adventure
The celebrations will also continue on Thursday 28 May with the Mid Norfolk Railway's DinoSquad Express themed train.
This event forms part of our wider investment in Breckland's market towns and follows the recent improvements to Dereham Market Place, helping to bring residents and visitors back into the town centre and support local traders.
