Noise nuisance
Some forms of noise nuisance can be resolved simply by speaking to the parties involved and making them aware of the issue.
However, when this has not worked or is not a viable course of action, you can use the appropriate online form below.

We can investigate
- Dog barking or animal noises
- Bird scarers (register a bird scarer)
- DIY noise
- Machinery noise
- Loud music
- Party noise
- People noise
- Vehicle and home burglar alarms
- TV/radio noise
- Vehicle noise
We can conditionally investigate
- Building and construction work
- If outside of 07:30 to 18:00 (Monday to Friday), 08:00 to 13:00 (Saturday), or on Sundays and bank holidays
- Licensed premises (pubs and clubs)
- If you consider the noise unreasonable or detrimental to your property and/or health
- Shop, business and factory noise
- If you consider the noise unreasonable or detrimental to your property and/or health
We cannot investigate
- Aircraft noise
- Direct civil aircraft noise complaints to theCivil Aviation Authority (opens new window) .
- For military aircraft noise, email SWK-lowflying@mod.gov.uk or call 01780 417558.
- Call 101 to complain about noise from police helicopters.
